-Demonstrating a strong commitment to collaboration with member organizations, the Government of Nepal, and development partners, Social Protection Civil Society Network (SPCSN) organized a two-day training on resource mobilization with the financial support of Save the Children. The event took place in Kathmandu, and aimed at equipping members and staff with essential skills for generating resources to support social protection rights.

The training was hosted by Mr. Rajendra Chaulagain, Program Coordinator of SPCSN, and was chaired by Mr. Tilottam Paudel, Chairperson of SPCSN and the overall session was facilitated by Mrs. Shaurabha Subedi as a resource person. The event saw participation from 21 individuals representing 14 member organizations, with a gender distribution of 12 females and 9 males.

Training Highlights:

Day 1: The training kicked off with an overview of resource mobilization, including various types of resources and their significance. Participants engaged in interactive activities such as a resource-related icebreaker game and a SWOC (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Constraints) analysis. The first day covered conceptual understanding, internal fundraising practices of Nepalese CSOs, and best practices for external fundraising strategies and partner engagement.

Day 2: The second day began with a recap of Day 1 and focused on external fundraising strategies, internal fund generation, and the role of digital platforms. Discussions included crafting compelling proposals, identifying external funding sources, and using success stories to engage partners. Participants were divided into groups to present findings on potential external funding sources and partners. They also explored strategies for mobilizing SPCSN at the local level and through campaigns.

The training concluded with the distribution of certificates to all participants. Mr. Paudel delivered closing remarks, emphasizing the importance of participant feedback in shaping SPCSN’s forthcoming Resource Mobilization guidelines. The event ended on a celebratory note with a group photo to commemorate the successful training.
