Resource Development forum for Human Rights: REDEF Nepal is a non-profit social organization established in 2062 with the vision of contributing to create a society based on social justice where every individual can lead a dignified life free from all forms of social and structural discrimination. Registered in Biratnagar, Morang, REDEF was established in 2005. REDEF has been rigorously working in the areas of Dalit Human Rights since its inception. The organization has made significant contributions to bring positive change in the area of Dalit human rights through various activities including creating awareness, lobby. 

The “Society for Women’s Empowerment & Sustainability – SHRISTI” is a nongovernmental NGO in Nepal that empowers women, children, and marginalized communities to build a peaceful, equitable, and sustainable society. Registered in Kathmandu and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council, SHRISTI focuses on socio-economic, educational, health, and livelihood programs. Key activities include sensitization campaigns, training, networking, research, and advocacy to influence policies and ensure human rights, addressing social protection, economic opportunities, human trafficking, child labor, environmental preservation, and gender-based violence.

SHRISTI has conducted training for disabled women, girl children’s programs, clothes and relief distribution, health camps, domestic violence awareness, earthquake relief, human rights events, SDG workshops, and bakery training. These efforts highlight SHRISTI’s dedication to empowering marginalized communities and promoting sustainable development.

Protection Nepal is a non-governmental organization established in 2001 and headquartered in the Bara district of Nepal. Protection Nepal advocates for the rights of children, youth, women and marginalized groups in the areas of education, health, social mobilization, water and sanitation, forestry, environment and communications.

NEEDS Nepal established in 1999, as a non-for-profit, non-government organization, registered with the Government of Nepal. The organization has been active in the social sector from the last 22 years. It was officially established as youth groups & were widely engaged in the society for social transformation, good governance and development. Along with the establishment, NEEDS Nepal has been implementing multiples programs related to empowerment, socio-economic development and social transformation particularly for Children, Women, persons with disabilities, Dalit and Indigenous people of the entire districts of Sudurpaschim Province who are marginalized and vulnerable to different social aspects and disasters.

NASCIF is a national network of the social organizations working for upholding the rights of the senior citizens across the country. It is duly registered with the District Administration Office, Kathmandu (Regd. 658/2068 B.S.)  in December 2011 and subsequently affiliated to Social Welfare Council of Nepal.

Karnali Integrated Rural Development and Research Centre (KIRDARC Nepal) is a Nepali Non-governmental National Organization, registered at District Administration Office, Jumla in 1999, and operating in Sudurpachhim Province, Karnali Province, Lumbini Province and in Bagmati Province.

Children-Women in Social Service and Human Rights (CWISH) is women-led not for profit, non-government organization (NGO), established in 1993 with an aim to ensure social justice, protection and promotion of human rights, especially the rights of children.

Collective Campaign for Peace (COCAP) is a national network of 43 peace and human rights non-governmental organizations from 29 different districts of Nepal.

In 1991, Community Self-Reliance Centre (CSRC) was born and officially registered as a Non-Government Organization (NGO) in 1993 with an objective to support local people in one remote district in Nepal.

Jagaran Media Center (JMC) was formed to advocate on the issues regarding good governance and transparency, climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction through media advocacy for people awareness.

Jagriti Child and Youth Concern Nepal (JCYCN) is a non-governmental, non- political and non-profit making social organization established (2004) by dedicated youths for the social protection and promotion of child and youth rights in Nepal through advocacy, research, and campaign.

Loo Niva works with the community at the grassroots level towards preventing exploitation and marginalization of underprivileged by supporting public schools with the active participation of parents and children.

Mahila Atma Nirbharta Kendra (MANK) is a leading NGO of Sindhupalchok with extensive experience in Protection: especially issues connected to human trafficking, child protection gender-based violence, WASH, Shelter, Health, and Livelihood.

An inclusive and equitable, just, society where women with disabilities of Nepal are enjoying their dignified life, the Nepal Disability Women Association (NDWA) was established to sustain these concerns through policy advocacy.

To facilitate the process of relief and rehabilitation of senior citizens, advocate for formulating appropriate policies and programs and their effective enforcement by the government National Senior Citizen Association Nepal (NASCIF) is a pioneering network to reduce the gap through awareness, dialogues, and discourse with concerned stakeholders.

Nari Sewa Kendra (NSK) was renamed in 1994 which was previously named Nari Hasta Kala Vikas Kendra that encourages and develops community to support poor and vulnerable women’s rights.

National Federation of Women Living with HIV and AIDS (NFWLHA), formerly known as the Women’s Network against HIV & AIDS (WONAHA), was initially established as a loose network in 2006 and was legally registered in 2007 with a vision to create a just and equitable society.

Nepal National Dalit Social Welfare Organization (NNDSWO) is a pioneer organization in combating "caste-based discrimination and untouchability’’ and promoting equality and dignity of Dalit in Nepal. NNDSWO, established in 1982, is a first registered non-government organization by Dalit for Dalit rights.

Shakti Samuha is the first organization in the world which is established and run by the survivors of human trafficking in 1996 AD as a trafficking survivor’s girls group and formally registered as a Non-Government Organization in 2000 AD. Reflecting the history of Shakti Samuha, it was
established following an incident in 1996, when 500 girls and women were rescued from slavery in Indian brothels during widespread police raids. Out of 500 girls and women 200 were Nepalese, among these, 128 Nepalese girls and women were sheltered away in remand homes in India, where
conditions were as bad as – if not worse – than prison. The Nepalese government denied to bring these women back to Nepal, claiming they would bring HIV into the country with them. In the absence of Government support, seven NGOs took the initiations in returning and rehabilitating the girls. Among those girls fifteen of them went on to set up Shakti Samuha. Shakti Samuha was established in 1996 as a trafficking survivor’s girls group and fully registered as the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in 2000 AD.

Women for Human Rights, single women group (WHR) is a non-governmental organization, established in 1996 to fight for the socio-cultural, economic and political rights of single women of Nepal. WHR strives to create a just and equitable society where there will be “no discrimination on the basis of marital status.

Tuki Association Sunkoshi is a non-governmental organization (NGO)working rigorously in different thematic areas collaborating with different development partners and local government in Sindhupalchok district for 26 years.

Plan International has been working in Nepal since 1978 helping marginalised children, their families and communities to access their rights to survival, protection and participation. At present, we run programmes in 8 districts and work through partners in 42 districts across the country. Nepal remains a highly patriarchal society and minority groups are especially vulnerable. Girls’ and women’s access to social, economic, and political power is limited and they are subject to harmful social norms and practices. In rural areas, 43% of girls marry before 18 and 1.6 million children are out of school across the country. In addition school enrolment for girls decreases at secondary school level and children with disabilities lack affordable health services.
