Social Protection Civil Society Network (SPCSN) is a liberal forum established in 2012 with an aim to raise voice of right holders, promote interface platform between right holders and duty bearers in order to help the duty bearers be more accountable on social protection issues. SPCSN invites applications for the post of Program Assistant from interested eligible candidates (Nepali citizens only) who are reliable, accountable, and have ability to deliver results with highest level of integrity and interested to work on social protection.

Required No: 1

Duration: Until December 2024 (Contract renewal based on performance)        

Work Station: Lalitpur with frequent visits in project area

Key Qualifications, Experiences & Key Competencies:

  • Completed Higher / Secondary Education (equivalent to +2) in humanities, management, or a related field. Candidates who have completed a bachelor’s degree will be given preference.
  • At least one-year experience working with NGOs. (either volunteer or staff)
  • Experience working in the social protection sector and good understanding of the realities faced by vulnerable populations such as single women, people living with disability, HIV infected and affected population, elderly people and children and informal sector.
  • Experience and knowledge of the social protection plans and programs of the Government of Nepal.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, enthusiastic and entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Excellent spoken and written English and Nepali.
  • Competence in using Microsoft Office including word, excel and power point and skill in developing meeting minute in Nepali and English in computer.
  • Excellent ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize and implement multiple tasks within strict deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables.
  • Prepare and update the information of all the direct beneficiaries, stakeholders, network members, concern departments, officials, and other concerns entities.
  • A candidate having a two-wheeler vehicle and driving license is highly preferred.
  • Applicants must commit to at least 2 years of service with SPCSN.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide programmatic and administrative support in the overall management of SPCSN’s day to day activities.
  • Support to Finance Officer in banking related works; such as check deposits in bank, coordinate to vendor / supplier / consultant to ensure all bills are timely submitted to SPCSN.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the SPCSN office such as purchasing office supplies, answering the office telephone, coordinating with vendors as requested.
  • Support in liaising and coordinating with and between government representatives, member organizations of SPCSN and other relevant personnel or entities.
  • Arrange logistics of training, workshops, conferences, and other events.
  • Support the preparation of reporting requirements such as monthly updates, quarterly reports, annual reports, annual work plans, and other documents.
  • Draft and distribute the program-related content that includes press releases, website content, and other materials that communicate the program’s activities and impacts.
  • Handle the social media outlets that include Facebook, and updating Website, and advise on the best channels to reach a specific audience.
  • Organize and participate in regular meetings of SPCSN as and when required.
  • Participate in shared learning activities, such as seminars, webinars, input into e-learning materials, sharing case studies of successes, challenge and good practices.
  • Other official tasks are assigned by the Program Coordinator and the Executive Board.

  • High level of integrity is shown towards the organization, beneficiaries, and stakeholders.
  • Always be Child sensitive, and gender-sensitive and consider social inclusion relating to the project activities implementation and others. Ensure do no harm approach to them.
  • Positive attitude and a good sense of humor.
